Reflections on animal behavior through music

The Calahorra music conservatory organizes the children’s opera ‘Brundíbar’ (the bumblebee) on Sunday, June 16, at the Ideal theater, at 8:00 p.m. The Symphony Orchestra, choir and soloists of this educational institution will participate, with Mario Galán Ayllón (stage director and soloists), Vicente Marín Díez (orchestra director) and Bartolomé Llorens Peset (choir director).

It was composed in 1938 by Hans Krása and was staged in the Nazi concentration camps during 1941 and 1942 so that the experience of the imprisoned children would be less painful.

This event will have almost a hundred people and is the final sample of the educational innovation project of the Ministry of Education #Covida artistic processes.

On Wednesday, June 19, at 8:00 p.m., the show ‘Animal’ will be performed at the ideal with the participation of 156 people. It is also part of #Covida and will benefit the Animal Aid Network. The IES Marco Fabio Quintiliano, the IES Gonzalo de Berceo de Alfaro, the Rocío Martínez de Quel Ballet School and the Calagurritano conservatory take part.

The objective of #Covida is to develop artistic productions to express ideas and emotions on a topic (animal, in this course). Students and teachers have reflected on how human beings generate conflicts when they behave like an animal and as a result they launched ‘Brundíbar’ and ‘Animal’.

In addition, on Thursday, June 20, at 7:00 p.m., the end-of-year concert is scheduled for the Elementary School Band and the Symphonic Band of the Conservatory in the Ideal conducted by Miguel Catalá Veses and Aurelio Fernández-Velilla Garrido.

Tickets for each of these three events cost 4.50 euros for all seats.
