Felipe Alessandri, candidate of Renovación Nacional, won Sunday’s primaries in Lo Barnechea in the toughest battle in Chile Vamos. In the interview, the mayoral candidate commented on his victory and the challenges he will face in October.
“Excited about what is coming now, it was boring compared to the vote that took place at the national level,” said Alessandri. “We turned up the volume on the campaign, it is good that people participate, the average neighbor found out that there were primaries.”
When referring to his opponent, Alessandri highlighted: “I have publicly acknowledged, Carlos is a tremendous gentleman.” He also stated that “we agreed on this primary.”
Regarding the possibility of a Republican candidacy, he commented: “I think it is more to the right of Chile Vamos. Kast has been having lunch here at my house, I think they have good candidates in other communes.” He added: “I have the best impression of the candidate, competing is healthy for democracy. Local problems of Lo Barnechea
When referring to local problems, Alessandri said: “This commune is a small Chile. There is a housing problem, we have to fix connectivity. You have to work a lot, these are topics that I am passionate about, but always receiving input from experts is essential.”
He commented on the support received: “I have received successes from Councilor Arellano, Isabel Pla, I have received expressions of affection from the UDI and also from Evópoli. Ximena Rincón has also written to me.
