What happened?
The Oral Criminal Court of Arica found three members of the “Choir Train“, which corresponds to a criminal organization “enemy” of the clan “Galician“, armed wing of the Aragua Train.

The background indicates that the “Tren del Coro” was made up of members released from “Los Gallegos” and that it began operating in Arica in 2022.

From there, the two organizations began a dispute to take over that drug sales area, which led to a war between the two.

What is the penalty requested by the Prosecutor’s Office?
Specifically, the Prosecutor’s Office asks for 53 years in prison for each of the individuals who were found guilty.
Mario Carreraregional prosecutor of Arica and Parinacota, noted that “We are very satisfied with the court’s decision“.
The prosecutor clarified that the criminal organization operated in the region “for several years” and that the trial was carried out in parallel with that of “Los Gallegos.”
“The important thing about this sentence… is that the crime of illicit association is added… This already confirms that we are in the presence of a criminal organization and with everything that this implies and with everything that it entails,” he said.
Finally, he stated that with this “An important step is taken in the fight against organized crime and the sentence in particular, with the years of sentence, will be read within the next week“.
