In joint work with the Police, the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué and the Government of Tolima An operation was carried out in a commercial establishment located in the sector known as ‘Calle Caliente’ in the heart of the city where according to citizen complaints they will be selling adulterated liquor.

According to the report seen by Caracol Radio, during the inspection bottles of liquor were found that When the inspection was carried out, the identification stamps were adulterated.

The citizen complaint was key to locating this establishment where the apparently adulterated liquor was found. “When observing the bottles, alterations in the security seals could be observed. Due process was applied to the owners by the authorities which ended with the closure of the establishment and the confiscation of the bottles,” said Jhon Ferley Amaya, director of Public Space of Ibagué.

For his part, Guillermo Vallejo, Secretary of the Treasury of the department, stated that the liquor bottles found had printed seals of past departmental administrations.

“The barcode is altered because we could verify that the same serial number is repeated countless times. It also has alterations in the barcode. We have already carried out this type of operation in several municipalities of Tolima; first, with awareness among merchants and later with operations,” revealed the head of departmental finances.
