The governor of Tierra del Fuego Gustavo Adrian Melella He reaffirmed his intention to convene a Constituent Convention to carry out the reform of the provincial Constitution, and unceremoniously took aim at the leaders who oppose said initiative by warning that “they are trying to boycott the thing.”
“There is a lot of hypocrisy, many say that it is not the time to reform the Constitution, but they ask for more time to campaign or they are already putting together lists. You don’t have to be hypocritical, you don’t have to be lukewarm or a shit in this. “Excuse the expression, because it is not my way,” he said at a press conference over the weekend.
In line with the above, Melella stressed that Tierra del Fuego does not need “lukewarm leaders,” ensuring that the objective of the debate to reform the Constitution is to discuss ideas and not personal issues.
“If you agree, you agree. And if you don’t agree, you don’t agree. We are transforming in productive terms, in educational terms and that is why we need to transform the Constitution of the province. You do not have to be afraid”he urged.
Finally, the provincial leader explained that so far the date for holding the Constituent Convention has not been set, although he announced that it is within the legal administrative deadlines, and he will call for the call before they expire.
