During the first quarter of 2024, the average spending of international visitors by air to Colombia reached $1,474, that is, about $6.04 million Colombian dollars (as of today, Monday, June 24).
The figure belongs to the survey of International Visitors (EVI), of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane). According to the document, the main items to which the largest budget was allocated were food and beverages, with a participation of 27%; accommodation, with 18%; and tourist packages, with 17%.

The Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies maintained that incoming tourism indicators of greater interest among international travelers in visiting Colombia, discovering its landscapes, enjoying its gastronomy, culture and traditions. “To make this trend possible, the National Government has implemented actions such as the promotion and expansion of air connectivity,” the union indicated.
Likewise, on average, non-resident visitors are tourism for 16.4 nights in the national territory, where Risaralda and Valle del Cauca stand out as the departments where they spend the most time, with 36 and 30 nights respectively.
“Improving the conditions of air, land and maritime infrastructure, in addition to connectivity, are undoubtedly essential strategies to attract the attention of foreign tourists, but it is important to highlight that a good experience also makes the difference in choosing their destination” , explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
It should be noted that non-resident visitors to Colombia increased 24.3% between January and December 2023, compared to last year, since last year 5.8 million arrived in the country.
