The business sector of Cauca
denounces that in the north of the department the invasion of productive properties by groups of hooded men has not stopped, that they set fire to the crops in the area; The flames have also affected an important forest area.

This irregular occupation of farms has been recorded in the last 72 hours in the municipalities of Cajibío and Caloto, even causing disputes and confrontations between indigenous and Afro communities. of this same territory. The invaded properties are the Guaduales, La Unión and El Chimán haciendas.

“It is urgent that the National Government exercise its authority to apply the Political Constitution in order to protect the right to private property covered in Article 51. likewise, that there be judicialization for those who invade private property,” said Gerardo Arroyo, executive director of the Cauca Trade and Business Council.

The productive sector of this department points out that the constant invasions, added to the blockades of the Pan-American highway, extortion and terrorism that is experienced in the region, have exacerbated social problems, preventing economic development and social investment in the department.
