The future of Jordhy Thompson is in Russia after Orenburg bought the now former Colo Colo player and Justice again authorized his departure from the country. However, his stay was strongly questioned by a Russian journalist, who echoed an alleged new case of violence that would involve the 19-year-old soccer player.

Thompson, charged with attempted femicide in November, returned to Chile after the six-month suspension of his national roots had expired. In this context, an Instagram account accused that the player had attacked the mother of a friend in Peñalolén and had been reported to the PDI.

Although the accusation made by social networks has not been confirmed nor have new details been provided, the information did not take long to reach Russia. There, journalist and sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev was harsh: he asked that, if confirmed, Orenburg should kick out the footballer.

“If Thompson is really guilty of attacking his girlfriend’s mother, the club must expel him and a criminal case must be opened,” Guberniev told the RIA Novosti agency. In addition, he made a sharp comment about the reinforcements arriving in Russian football.

Russian journalist and Jordhy Thompson: “They are hiding from justice here”

“The appearance of Quincy Promes (convicted of drug trafficking) in Spartak is a blow to the reputation of the club and football. In this case, Thompson’s presence in Orenburg also does not expose them in a good light. “If they prove that he is really guilty, he should be expelled from the team,” he added.

“I find it very strange when criminals are invited to play football in the Russian championship. They often hide from justice here. “All this is very unfortunate,” condemned the sports journalist.
