This Wednesday, Senapred decreed a Red Alert for Arauco, Bío Bío region, due to the threat of overflowing the Pichilo River.
Given this, SAE messaging was issued so that residents of the commune proceed with the respective evacuation.
In addition, it was specified that the General Directorate of Water (DGA) reported an “increase in flow according to what was reported by the municipal teams deployed monitoring the different situations on the ground.”
For his part, the regional director of Senapred, Alejandro Sandoval, indicated that “We are supporting the municipality in the evacuation process of the Pichilo sector as a result of this overflow threat”.
