Pedro Quinan, a resident of Río Turbio, has been experimenting with trekking and mountaineering in the entire Carbonifera basin area and surrounding areas for six years.

This weekend, his latest camping experience with -18 °C in a mountain area 2 kilometers from Río Turbio and with a unique view of the city went viral on Redes.

The photo that went viral on Redes shows Pedro’s illuminated tent and in the background the Route to the Valdelén Ski Center and the city of Río Turbio in a nighttime panorama. Without a doubt, a landscape like no other, which Pedro enjoys every so often that he can.

In dialogue with the Editorial Team of El Que Calla Otorga, he told us about his adventures in the high mountains. “The idea is to get to know the entire surroundings of the coal basin, we have so much virgin and little-known vegetation that it is worth going out for several days” he began. describing Quinan.

When asked if it was the first time he had camped in the winter season, he told us “No, this winter is the third time, I camped in Cerro Dorotea with -7 C°, I did La Lomada with -5 C° and the Mirador de la Soga which “It is the last one with a temperature of -18 C° according to some records from that cold morning in Río Turbio.”
