A Sitp bus exploded in the early hours of Wednesday, June 26, 2024 when it was parked in the yard located in Bosa, south of Bogotá.

According to the first reports, the emergency was caused by the detonation of the gas cylinders of one of the Sitp buses. Due to the shock wave, several buses were affected, according to preliminary information.
At the moment only two people are known to be injured, although the injuries are not serious. Apparently there are no fatalities due to the emergency in the Bosa patio.
Through a statement, Transmilenio SA confirmed that the events occurred at 3:09 in the morning and that they are the subject of investigation.
“At around 3:09 am this Wednesday, June 26, 2024, an accident was reported involving a bus of the zonal component of the operator Consorcio Express in a yard in Bosa, which is being investigated,” the document reads. .
Likewise, they indicated that as soon as the emergency was known, all care routes were activated. For these procedures, we work together with the relief agencies and the District Health Secretariat.
“Once the news was known, all care protocols were activated jointly with the Ministry of Health, the Bogotá Fire Department and other competent authorities,” they noted in the statement.
In the document they also confirmed that two people were injured, one of them is the bus driver and the other is a general services worker. Both were treated and do not have serious injuries.
“In the event, an operator and one of the bus cleaning collaborators received medical attention and suffered minor and non-serious injuries,” the statement says. “Both the Managing Entity and the concessionaire will initiate the pertinent investigations to establish the causes of the novelty, as well as to collaborate with the same process carried out by the competent authorities,” the text adds.
