This Saturday, Russia declared that the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, is on the country’s “search and capture” list. It is ordered according to the Ministry of the Interior of Russia, including various people for committing various crimes against the country.
According to the official Russian agency TASS, Zelensky is wanted for committing a crime contemplated in the Russian Criminal Code, without offering further details. But Zelensky’s name on such a list does not surprise many, since it is usually a trend practiced by Russian authorities against the Ukrainian government since the start of the war in 2022.
On his Telegram channel, Tass stated that “a criminal case has been opened against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Russia and he is wanted, according to the database of the Russian Interior Ministry.” Likewise, a “Zelensky File” was published in the Russian Interior Ministry’s wanted persons database.
Another person added to such a list is former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, also “by virtue of a criminal article.” The Russian Interior Ministry also provided Poroshenko’s file in the wanted persons database.
