The book It emerged from the Mapuzungun Workshop taught by teachers Mirta Millán, Guillermo Aramburu and Darío Puñalef, members of the Pillán Manké Urban Mapuche Community of Olavarría. The course is developed within the framework of the Language Laboratory dependent on the Secretariat of Extension, Welfare and Transfer of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The presentation will take place next Saturday, June 15, starting at 5 p.m. at the Bicentennial House of Olavarría, Bolívar and Cerrito. On the occasion there will be intercultural artistic exhibitions and stands where you can appreciate the conceptual journey of the elements of nature and intercultural wealth.

The book is authored by teachers and students of the aforementioned course and was developed by the Editorial area and the Secretariat of Extension, Welfare and Transfer of the FACSO.

The project of the work means the integration of knowledge and intercultural dialogues in an artistic-literary and community creation, where the symbolic is valued as the cultural heritage of the Mapuche people, in which the ancestral is redefined in the contemporary context of Buenos Aires. Each text is written in Mapuzungun and Spanish.

This year the book was published in print after having won first place in the call “Cenzontle, a Window for Native Languages.” The project was presented jointly with Dr. Rocío Lencina, teacher and researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Through it, the collective award as Preserving Community of the Languages ​​of Ibero-America, a joint initiative of the international programs IberCultura Viva and Ibermemoria Sonora y Audiovisual. The economic stimulus of this award made it possible to print the work.

The presentation at the Bicentennial House is organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Pillan Manké Urban Mapuche Community; It is sponsored by the Sundersecretary of Education and Culture of the Municipality of Olavarría, the Ibero-American General Secretariat, the Ibermemoria Sonora, Photographic and Audiovisual Program and IberCultura Viva; and the accession of Cultural Heritage Observatory of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Casa Alfar.
