The national government reported this Monday that it began to implement the health voucher system in Argentina. It was with an event in the city of San Nicolás, where national authorities toured the first public-private center to implement Municipal Medical Insurance that will provide coverage to 50,000 residents without social work.

The private sector participates in the initiative, the Oroño group from Rosario, as reported by the Presidency of the Nation. For now the system only works for the San Nicolás health center.

The Minister of Health of the Nation, Mario Russo, toured with the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, the facilities of the new GO Sanatorium San Nicolásthe public-private health center that will implement this health voucher system called Municipal Medical Insurance.

The medical director of the sanatorium, Marisa Vico, also participated in the tour; the director of Grupo Oroño, Roberto Villavicencio; the former mayor of the town, Manuel Pasagglia; municipal authorities and medical staff of the institution.

The government reported through a statement that “the city of San Nicolás It is the first place in the country to implement this system, through which medical coverage will be provided to the almost 50,000 residents “They do not have social work or prepaid medicine, which represent 30% of the local population.”

“Municipal Medical Insurance is implemented through a digital credential, using the user’s ID as the membership number, which allows for control of attention to avoid fraud. The digital credential works with a token, like all social works, from the municipality’s website,” the Presidency detailed.

Through this system, the municipality is responsible for paying only for those medical benefits that the neighbor receives and that correspond with primary health care, the level that corresponds to the municipalities.

“That is, the municipality ensures subsidize demand and not supplyas promoted by President Javier Milei,” the national government detailed in the statement.
