The vocalist of Banda El Recodo, Ricky Yocupicioaddressed the topic of a video that has spread through social networks, showing an incident where He was harassed by a fan during a concertafter it went viral and other fans demanded justice, as it was a blatant act of harassment.
In a recent video broadcast by the program First handYocupicio revealed that, although the images began to circulate widely in recent days, the event actually occurred in 2021, during a presentation in the United States. She confirmed that she was indeed subjected to inappropriate touching by the fan in question.
“(The fan) crossed the line a little bit, practically I had a genital grab. “I am not the first nor the only one that happens to this, it happens to men and women, that is what happens when an artist in good faith approaches the public,” began the famous regional Mexican singer who also denied wanting to proceed legally in his against, although he did not detail the reasons behind his decision.
Ricky, the vocalist of Banda El Recodo, expressed his concern about the adverse situations he has faced, including improper touching and robberies during his performances at palenques and concerts.
“They have taken away my chains, I have recovered them thank God. They took a ring from me in a palenque. It’s not the first time I’ve been touched inappropriately. They have grabbed my genitals, a buttockthey put their hand in my jacket, you are always vulnerable”he added.
He stressed that, if he had been the one to commit similar actions against a follower, the consequences within his group would have been immediate and severe. Despite not being the only one who has experienced these problems, Ricky emphasized that he would never wish such incidents to happen to any colleague, regardless of their gender, evidencing the disparity in reaction to these events depending on who experiences or commits them.
“I assure you that they would have already made a march, already they would have kicked me out of the band. I believe that we simply have to maintain respect between men and women because I would also like this not to happen to my fellow female artists,” she concluded.
On social networks, fans of the singer and the Mexican regional band have expressed their dissatisfaction with this type of acts of sexual harassment, making the topic a digital debate that has also been directed at trying to give a “hug” to the famous person who despite of the time of what happened, has been vulnerable due to the issue.
