A teacher, 60 years old, was the victim of a case of sexual abuse within a rural educational institution in the municipality of San Roque, Northeast Antioquia. For this reason, the students carried out a mobilization through the streets of this municipality, asking for justice for what happened to this veteran teacher.
A statement from the educational institution states that the events were recorded this Tuesday at the El Jardín headquarters of the San Juan Rural Educational Institution and, according to information from the authorities, The person responsible would be an 18-year-old young man, a farmer.who would have entered this school irregularly to commit the sexual crime.
The Government Secretary of San Roque, Valeria Bedoya, explained that through articulated work by the various authorities The alleged perpetrator of this sexual crime was capturedand has already been presented to the competent authorities to answer for the crime of abusive sexual act.

Simultaneously, the Mayor’s Office of San Roque began a process of support for the affected teacher and her family to cope with the situation of sexual violence experienced by this older adult, who was still sharing her knowledge with the younger ones.
“We express our solidarity and unconditional support to the affected teacher, as well as her family, in this difficult time. No woman should be the object of violence or discrimination in our society, which is why we work tirelessly to guarantee the safety and protection of all the inhabitants of San Roque,” expressed the authorities of this town.

Regarding the student mobilization, which took place this Wednesday morningstudents and teachers came out with banners and billboards asking that educational environments be respectedboth to the student community and to the teachers who make it up.
“San Roca teachers reject violence against teachers. “Schools are territories of peace,” read one of the banners displayed by the teachers, since all those from the other educational institutions in the municipality joined the protest, which was carried out without problems.
According to the Government of Antioquia, in the last four years there have been complaints five cases of sexual abuse in this municipalitylast year being the year with the most complaints, with two cases, while in 2022 and 2021 one case was reported.
