The Military Gaula managed to capture Ana Gabriela Morgado Acosta, who appeared on the most wanted poster in the department of Casanare for criminal acts. According to the authorities, Morgado Acosta would be linked to an extortion process.
Morgado Acosta is the permanent companion of José Manuel Álvarez Arrieta, alias “Darío” or “Medicina”, leader of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, captured in May 2022 in the La Pradera neighborhood of Montería.
According to preliminary information, at the time of her capture, Ana Gabriela identified herself with a false ID. She had an arrest warrant for the crime of extortion in the Casanare department and she is already scheduled for preliminary hearings.
According to the authorities, Álvarez Arrieta, husband of Ana Gabriela, is a member of the GAO Clan del Golfo and commits crimes as coordinator of these structures in the municipalities of Maní, Tauramena, Villanueva, Monterrey, Aguazul and Yopal. Alias ”Darío” or “Medicina” has a 12-year criminal record in the criminal organization.
For Ana Gabriela, a reward of up to 10 million pesos was offered for information leading to her capture, becoming one of the most forceful blows that the National Army deals to the organized crime structures that commit crimes in Casanare.
