President Luis Lacalle Pou He assured that “now it has become fashionable to talk about freedom, I hope it doesn’t happen,” when participating in the Annual Freedom Dinner in Argentina, on an evening shared with his partner Javier Milei and hundreds of businessmen and politicians.
Lacalle Pou He also added his claim for “getting out of the corset of Mercosur”, during the traditional annual event organized Freedom Foundation, where the former presidents of Argentina, Mauricio Macri; of Spain, José María Aznar; and of Bolivia, Jorge Quiroga; as well as the former Minister of Economy of Brazil, Paulo Guedes.
At the beginning of his presentation, the president said that he was close to not showing up. “I have 311 days left and I said ‘I don’t have time.’ But then I remembered that this foundation gave me a voice when no one gave me a voice.
