In a raid carried out in Urrao, police officers detained two suspects of the triple homicide that shocked the residents of that municipality last weekend.

According to the Police, the operation was carried out in the vicinity of the La Honda sidewalk and resulted in the capture of two subjects, presumably identified as aliases “Duende” and alias “Angelito or Santiago”, both accused of belonging to a Gulf Clan substructure.
During the investigation, the uniformed officers not only seized a 20 caliber weapon with its respective ammunition and a grenade, but clothing that would fit with the first investigations that are being carried out to identify those responsible for the crime.

According to the Police, one of the most important cases of the detained couple It was the alias “Duende”, that according to intelligence information he would have rented a public establishment located in the El Pedrero sector, with the objective of committing the crime, due to its strategic location to monitor the Public Force.
In the case of “Duende”, he would have been identified after witnesses linked him to the crime and gave clues to the authorities. about his features and the clothing he was wearing at the time of the homicides.

It is worth remembering that the multiple homicide that shocked Urrao occurred last Saturday April 20th when four people were attacked while they were in a public establishment located in the El Pedrero neighborhood, leaving a balance of three dead and one injured.
According to reports, the three victims were identified as Adenawer Beltrán Serna36 years old; Adrián de Jesús Guzmán Giraldo, 23 years old; and a third man whose identity has yet to be established.

Although for now the causes of the crime have not yet been established, the episode once again put on the table the internal divisions that the Clan del Golfo has been suffering in the Southwest of Antioquia, whose substructures would be waging a battle to control municipalities like Urrao, Betulia, Concordia, Salgar, Ciudad Bolívar, Hispania, Betania, Andes and Jardín.

Although the security situation is also sensitive in other subregions such as the Northeast, Bajo Cauca and the West, with the event last weekend the Southwest became the first to record a multiple homicide in 2024.
