The Guarantee Court of La Serena today – Friday, April 26 – left FHVO, accused by the Public Ministry as the author of the crime of damage to national monuments, subject to precautionary measures of national roots and prohibition of approaching the Court of Appeals. . Illegal act committed last Sunday.
At the formalization hearing, Judge Alain Maldonado Liberona accepted the precautionary measures requested by the prosecution as he considered them proportional and appropriate for the purposes of the procedure. In addition, he set the investigation period at 90 days.
In ruling, Judge Maldonado Liberona warned the accused that: “If he violates these precautionary measures decreed by the court, he risks being detained and taken to court to remain under the preventive detention regime. For these purposes, communication must be given to the Carabineros of the First Police Station of the city, so that they can proceed in the event that the accused violates the prohibition of this court.”
According to the prosecuting entity, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 21, 2024, the accused went to the front of the Court of Appeals of La Serena, located at Los Carrera Street N°420 of the commune, in the sector of the typical area of the city, declared by decree of 1981 of the Ministry of Education.
At the scene, the accused threw, with the intention of causing damage to the property, in the access area, a viscous impregnating liquid of an opaque color that damaged the front of the building, staining the floor and walls of the main entrance, damages valued at the sum of $70,000.
