Cultural Park-Ex Cárcel joins the Heritage, Art and Culture Route – G5noticias

With the presence of 12 countries, the Valparíso International Tourism Fair (FITVAL) was inaugurated today in Valparaíso, a unique event in the country that promotes tourism activity, with the participation of 14 regions. More than 100 stands that offer a wide range of offers with professional support, with operators and innovative routes and destinations.

The official reception, which was attended by the mayor of the city, Jorge Sharp, the executive director of Fitval Marco Brauchy, the mayor of San Rafael, Omar Félix; and the president of the board of directors of the Valparaíso-Ex-Cárcel Cultural Park, Gianina Figueroa -more delegations from various countries-, incorporates for the first time the Heritage, Memory, Art and Culture route as an offer in the field of tourism.

According to the director of FITVAL, Marco Brauchy, for this Fair that allows us to strengthen links and learn about experiences, technology and innovation, “it is of enormous importance that the Heritage Route be added. The presence of this site of Memory, with all its potential and its natural amphitheater is of enormous relevance, and we are not only talking about its geography and the work carried out there, but also about Memory. This is the first time that the park is there, but it will not be the first because there is a close link that will allow us to maintain memory and culture within what tourism is, because without a doubt culture in a representation that is intimately linked to the tourism economy.”

The director of the Valparaíso-Ex Cárcel Cultural Park, Gianina Figueroa, added that “this board has determined the importance of being at this International Fair and inviting all people to get to know our Park; It is nothing more nor less than two centuries of history that the Cultural Park houses with its memory site of the Former Valparaíso Prison and the Gunpowder House, in addition, with its entire billboard of open shows. 74% of the people who visit the Park and participate in its activities do so for free. Therefore. Being in the most important tourism fair in Chile undoubtedly places us as an interesting destination to grow and make Valparaíso visible from Cultures, Arts and Heritage.”
