The two are part of the XVII International Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity 1st. of May, which until next day 3 brings together some 300 people from 24 nations, on the occasion of the celebration of International Workers’ Day
“I am interested in the details about the adversities that Cubans face due to the harsh blockade,” revealed Georgia, who expressed her desire to transmit her experiences to her colleagues in the Communist Party, in a special event that they will hold, and in articles that they will publish.
«We want to coordinate a group for all those brigade members who, at a global level, have participated in the 1st brigade. May at some point, to together devise ways to continue solidarity,” he explained.
Her daughter Alejandra wants to expand her knowledge about the project called Tarea Vida, for the care and protection of the environment, because she, as a veterinarian, is dedicated to the study and preservation of wildlife.
“In Athens I attended the screening of a documentary about Task Life, and I greatly appreciate the government policy implemented in Cuba to mitigate the consequences of natural disasters, climate change and the greenhouse effect,” said the young woman.
He commented that he has work experience in Costa Rica, England and Greece, and assures that the biggest problem for wildlife conservation is the privatization of land and the installation of companies for the exploitation of natural resources.
For her, the issues of ecology are followed by people of good will interested in the protection of nature, based on research projects sponsored by various academies, with financing and resources that “are never enough, and are limited in time.” .
As in most just causes, Cuba is also an example of caring for nature, they recognize, and admit that this is the spirit that encouraged them to come, in addition to confirming, in first person, and sharing, all the working-class enthusiasm that takes to the streets of the country every 1st. of May.
