Concern among the inhabitants of the Coaviconsa neighborhood south of Bucaramanga, due to the presence of a gang of criminals who have been generating fear of theft from clients in businesses in the sector.

A video provided by one of the residents of the Coaviconsa neighborhood of Bucaramanga shows how a criminal gang has been affecting this sector and other neighborhoods to the south of the city.

According to the images, outside a bakery on Carrera 16 and Calle 103A, on the main road that connects the Bucaramanga Transport Terminal with the Provenza neighborhood, there were two women and a man at a table consuming soda and bread.

Despite being a busy road, this did not prevent two ‘motorbike thieves’ from arriving at the business to assault the customers who were outside the premises.

As seen in the video, the subjects, without removing their helmets, wearing black and red jackets, jeans and tennis shoes, attacked the victims and began to take their belongings.

They seized cell phones, wallets and some other valuable items. They left the place without anyone stopping them.

“Unfortunate that this happens in our neighborhood. Where the business is, it is a main road, but the criminals do their thing without anyone stopping them,” said a resident of Coaviconsa.

Precisely on the afternoon of this Monday, May 6, the mayor of Bucaramanga, Jaime Andrés Beltrán, launched a group called the Search Block against Homicide and Crime.

This is phase two of the so-called ‘Candado Plan’ with which, with greater capacity of uniformed personnel, intelligence work and reaction against crime, the capture of these criminal gangs is sought.

“It is a special operations unit, an elite group prepared and ready to pursue criminal groups that threaten the tranquility of our citizens with all military capabilities. One week after the start of the second phase pilot plan, 66 ‘motor thieves’ have already been arrested, 315 people for theft. We are not going to rest until each of these criminals are behind bars,” said Mayor Beltrán. .
