On the night of Tuesday, May 21, Ibagué experienced a new robbery attempt. According to the report of the National Police of said city, two young men were captured, 22 and 20 years oldwho moments before had stolen several valuable objects.

The incident occurred around 10:00 pm when the couple, allegedly, along with other accomplices, assaulted a liquor establishment in the Vergel sector, intimidating a citizen with a firearm to steal his motorcycle, which is valued at 80 million pesos.

Likewise, an iPhone 14, two motorcycle helmets, an intercom and a pair of gloves were stolen from the establishment. Objects that reach an approximate value of more than 10 million of pesos.

After the theft, the community alerted the sector’s police, who recognized that one of the motorcycles involved had also been stolen a month ago. Once this information was collected, the authorities began a lock plan to ‘cordon’ criminals.

The authorities were able to identify that the man had two judicial notes for the crimes of illegal possession of firearms and qualified and aggravated robbery.
