During this week, the Ministry of Education (Mineduc) announced a new platform that is focused on job offers for men and women teachers the country.

This is the initiative “Teachers for Chile“, which is part of the National Teaching Plan presented by the Mineduc and whose objective is facilitate hiring processes and simplify the search for replacements for schools in a more efficient and safe way.

Specifically, “Teachers for Chile” provides detailed information about job offers, educational projects, benefits and characteristics of the establishments. In addition, it promotes transparency in job offers and equitable access to information in the educational field.

In this way, the web platform spread the different vacancies What is there for “education teachers?” kindergarten, basic and middle school of public schools and high schools,” according to the Ministry of Education.

Teachers for Chile is developed in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and by the Millennium Institute of Complex Engineering Systems (ISCI) of the University of Chile. On that line, you will start your pilot phase in some communities in the countrywith a total universe of 6 thousand teachers, 5 thousand of them in classrooms, covering an enrollment of more than 74 thousand students.

Since when will the platform work?

At the moment, the web platform is operating in its pilot phase until the end of the year. Six supporters participate in it, bringing together 12 communes in the countryamong which there is a total of 208 educational establishments.

Within the participating municipalities, there are: Santiago, Central Station, La Calera and Pozo Almonteand the Local Education Services of Barrancas (including the communes of Pudahuel, Lo Prado and Cerro Navia) and Costa Araucanía (made up of the communes of Carahue, Nueva Imperial, Saavedra, Teodoro Schmidt and Toltén).

Meanwhile, the pilot phase of “Teachers for Chile” is expected to conclude at the end of 2024, so that the platform can be launched throughout the country during the academic year of the next 2025.
