The Córdoba Police, based on a court order, carried out an operation this Friday in a property in the San Martín neighborhood of the provincial capital, where a spare parts warehouse operated. During the procedures, Tires, auto parts and rims were seized. Two high-end vehicles with kidnapping requests were also found.

During the operation, six adults were arrested and cars and more than 1,000 tires and tires of different sizes were seized, among other items whose origin is being investigated. The provincial Security Minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros, estimated that what was seized exceeds $700,000.

As Quinteros explained in dialogue with Chain 3, There are several possibilities to dispose of the seized material. One option is to auction it; Another is to deliver it to entities that need to replace covers on their vehicles. However, it will ultimately be Justice who decides his fate.

“During yesterday’s raid (on Friday), we were talking with prosecutor Horacio Vázquez, who was in charge of the investigation precisely into this situation. Neither the tires nor the covers have an identification, making it very difficult for anyone to who has suffered a crime of this type, from the famous wheel stealers, can go to request the maximum restitution, taking into account that the insurance companies – in most cases – have taken charge of the replacement. So, what was kidnapped. remains at the disposal of Justice”, the Minister explained.

And he added: “The prosecutor will deliver the report to the Attorney General’s Office and later it will be the Superior Court of Justice that decides what to do with them. They can be auctioned, one of the possibilities. But well, it will ultimately be the Justice that decides the final destination of these tires and rims”.

Asked about the background of this operation carried out in the San Martín neighborhood, Quinteros said that when the stolen items are recovered, they remain at the disposal of the Superior Court of Justice and are determined by the relevant agencies.

“You can order the auction of them. When there is an amount like this, one of the possibilities is that it is the auction and the other is that they can be delivered to entities that need to replace covers on their vehicles,” the official noted.
