The teacher and director of the Río Blanco Rural School in the commune of Coyhaique, Paula Miranda Lincon, was selected to accompany the President, Gabriel Boric and the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry, on their tour of Europe, in order to learn about experiences of environmental education and energy efficiency.

The above, in recognition of the work and seal of scientific inquiry, technology and innovation promoted by the establishment led by teacher Paula Miranda.

“It is a beautiful opportunity to learn about experiences of educational innovation in Sciences and I deeply appreciate the invitation that the President, Gabriel Boric, has made me, because it is an incentive for teachers who strive to contribute to education in the territories,” said the director of the Río Blanco Rural School.

Aysén’s Minister of Education, Isabel Garrido, highlighted the commitment to public education, both of Paula Miranda and the school’s educational team.

“This shows that it is possible to provide quality public education in all contexts. In rural, urban, multigrade schools, with uncombined courses, everywhere in Chile it is possible to provide quality education to girls and boys, which is precisely our mission. This is one of many examples in our region that deserve to be highlighted,” said the seremi.

The Minister of Science, Aisén Etcheverry, was at the Río Blanco Rural School in April 2023, an opportunity in which she launched, together with regional authorities, the first contest “Forming equity: Pedagogical practices for non-sexist education.” During that visit she learned about the work and strategies developed by the teaching team to promote Science, Technology and Innovation in their students.

This Monday, June 10, the President, Gabriel Boric, is already in Berlin, Germany, together with the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Luis Cordero, Minister of Economy, Nicolás Grau, Minister of Energy, Diego Pardow, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry.

In addition, the president is accompanied by the parliamentary, academic and scientific delegation, of which Paula Miranda is a part.
