In Villavicencio, Julio Camargo’s mother, who suffers from a rare type of cancer, is asking the national and Australian governments for help to be able to travel to accompany her son.

Julio Roberto Camargo, his father, told Noticias Caracol that the young man “A month ago he was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, which is one case in a billion, in a very healthy, athletic, high-performance person, without vices, and he was in Australia, he is studying English and he began to feel back pain, stomach pain, and from one moment to the next he went to the doctor and it turns out that he had serious cancer and they still don’t know how it is treated, they are in that treatment process.”

There are four children in the Camargo family and Julio is the oldest. With effort, these parents went into debt to send the young man to study in Australia. Now, They need to get more than $100 million to save his life.

“Yeah, That’s what I need, to go take care of him, to help him if he hurts, to take care of him, to know what hurts him, where I care for him, where I take care of him. Those of us who are parents understand this despair and anguish, Because when a child gets sick, the despair is tenacious, and even more so having it so many miles away, which is a situation in which my heart is tangled, it is crushed, and what the Australian doctors asked for was for the parents to be there.” said Susana Villamil, his mother.

The Colombian family is also waiting for a response from the Australian embassy so that the mother can travel to accompany her son.

Susana clarified that “I don’t want to stay there, I love my country, I am in love with my country, with everything we have here; besides, I have three small children, three minor children that I am taking care of, who are also here and who need care.”.

“My only desire is to go at this moment, in this first phase of the treatment, which is the most difficult for my child, to go and take care of him, attend to him,” the woman insisted.

Julio Camargo has been alone in Australia for a year and the treatment to combat cancer is very strong.
