June 11th commemorates the World Prostate Cancer Prevention Day, which is the one with the highest incidence in men in our country. The objective is to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis that makes it possible to detect the tumor in its initial stages.
Prostate Cancer can grow and spread rapidly, threatening health, but most grow very slowly and will not cause mortality. He Ministry of Health of Entre Ríos promotes prevention, since early detection is the fundamental tool to detect a tumor of this type in time.

Prevention studies
Carrying out studies for early diagnosis can prevent progression to advanced stages of the disease. which is caused by uncontrolled growth of cells in the prostate, a walnut-shaped gland located below the bladder and in front of the rectum in men. Tests to detect prostate cancer consist of a blood test to measure Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) and a digital exam through the rectum. The definitive diagnosis is determined through a prostate biopsy.
