Through a statement, The Bogotá Health Secretariat stated that the ambulance that would be involved in an attempted robbery in the north of the city is assigned to an institution that provides health services.

The authorities of the country’s capital maintained that they had a team to be present at that institution, this for the purpose of a visit to inspect the events mentioned in the media.
Likewise, the Bogotá Health Secretariat maintained that this ambulance had been reported as “non-operational.”
“During the visit carried out, the IVC commission collected information about the vehicle in question and, among other aspects, It was found that between May 2 and June 8, 2024, the vehicle was reported non-operational for different reasons, including mechanical failures or incomplete crew.“, reads the communication.
The Health authorities of Bogotá stated that the situation is already under administrative investigation to make the corresponding decisions.
“The documents collected during the procedure will be transferred to the Bogotá regional Attorney General’s Office for the pertinent procedures. The entity will continue to collaborate with the authorities in clarifying these unfortunate events.“said the Ministry of Health.
According to police information, it was not an attempted kidnapping, but rather a robbery. In addition, the victim filed a complaint for personal injuries.
