San José de las Matas.- The General Directorate of Fine Arts announced that this weekend, the inhabitants of San José de las Matas will be able to enjoy the acclaimed play “The Last Character of Cecilia B”, performed by the National Theater Company .
After its successful presentations at the International Progressive Theater Festival of Venezuela in March 2024, the national tour of “The Last Character of Cecilia B” continues in June with only two performances. This Friday, June 14, the public of San José de las Matas (Sajoma) will have the opportunity to attend this production at 8:00 p.m. at the Patio Cultural San José, and on Saturday the 15th, in Puerto Plata, in the Ivan García theater.
The work, written by maestro Giovanny Cruz, features outstanding performances by Nileny Dippton and Wilson Ureña. Under the direction of Fausto Rojas, the set design is by Fidel López, while the costumes are designed by Sócrates Cabral and Bautista Sierra. In 2023, “Cecilia B” was presented at the International Festival of Women on Stage, receiving excellent reviews.
