The Asphalt Plan plans to invest about 12 million euros in streets and avenues until 2027AJ Gonzalez
The Local Government Board of Córdoba City Council has approved, among the urgent points, the start of the Asphalt Plan contracting file of the city, with which it is intended to undertake 154 performances between 2025 and 2027which will involve an investment of about 12 million euros.
As explained by the municipal infrastructure delegateMiguel Ruiz Madrugathe idea of the initiative is to carry out an activity of improvement and maintenance of the streets and avenues of the city “maintained over time” and has been planned with the intention that all the major arteries of the city are improved in that period of time, also serving other streets that also need it.
The procedure to carry out said plan first goes through the drafting of the technical projectwhich is the most immediate and will involve a disbursement of 267,202 euros, which must be completed within a period of five months and that will affect some 650,000 square meters of surface, of which 350,000 correspond to large avenues. The work, according to the councilor, would get underway as soon as “the weather window opens”which are the months in which the asphalt work can be carried out with guarantee.
Meets all needs captured
This project, as Ruiz Madruga has pointed out, has taken into account the needs included in a report from the Uranism Management, of the District Council and the Infrastructure delegation itself. Among the characteristics that the action will include is undertaking the work with absorbente, which will contribute to generating a lower acoustic impact. The intention of the government team is that to undertake some of these works they can count on European funds.
Ruiz Madruga has described the plan as ambitious, because, in his opinion, nothing like it has ever been done in the city. The head of Infrastructure of the Córdoba City Council points out that the city “lacked strategic planning in this matter” and also added that in order to obtain the necessary financing, the projects must be drafted.
Cruz Conde Street
The same Local Government Board has also given approval to the contracting file for the Christmas lighting on Cruz Conde Street, which almost doubles that of the previous year, and amounts to 727,000 euros. This agreement will have a duration of two years with the option of extending it for another two years.
Along with this, the acquisition of different vehicles for the Gardening and Lighting areas (motorcycles and pick-ups with lifting platforms) has also been approved for a value of 114,657. Madruga has indicated that the approval of another lot worth 629,318 euros has been pending, which depends on having “budgetary coverage.”
