The Rioja Culture Center celebrates summer with a program that includes proposals aimed at all audiences. The Councilor for Promotion of the City, Miguel Sainz, presented this Monday the planned activities together with a representative of the Association of Wineries of Logroño, Elena Pino, and that of the Association of Sommeliers of La Rioja, José Ramón Jiménez. And, as Sainz has assured, “summer is the perfect time to enjoy our city calmly and see it from another perspective and the CCR offers a complete program showing, once again, that it is a lively and full space.” of proposals for all ages where art and culture help us to continue promoting one of our hallmarks, wine.”

The program begins this Thursday, June 20, with the activity ‘Logroño and its wines’ which, as the councilor explained, “will structure the CCR’s summer program by being held on 11 Thursdays of the summer, at 7:00 p.m. and until August 29.” Specifically, the 5 wineries that will participate on this occasion are: Olarra, Viña Ijalba, Franco Española, Ontañón and Campo Viejo.

The activity is a guided tour of the current exhibitions and, later, a tasting of 4 wines from 4 wineries in Logroño commented by a professional sommelier. The cost to participate in each of these tastings is 18 euros and there are 30 places per tasting.

In this sense, the Councilor for Promotion of the City thanked “the collaboration of the Association of Wineries of Logroño and the Association of Sommeliers of La Rioja, which allow us to give visibility to the great wine potential of our city.” In addition, Sainz highlighted that “two of the tastings that are going to take place, specifically the one on July 11 and August 8, will be carried out in English thinking about the tourists who visit us during these months.”

Contemporary dance will also be present thanks to the 7th edition of the Margen Danza Festival that lands in different spaces of the CCR on June 26. During that day you can enjoy different dance and performance pieces from 12:00 p.m. with ‘De la tierra venimos’ by Karelis Zambrano until its closing with the work ‘Reface’ by Collectif Les Idoles at 8:00 p.m. Admission costs 5 euros and gives access to all the activities of this festival.

Another of the featured activities is ‘The time of Rioja vermouth’ which will take place next Saturday, June 29, at 12:00 p.m., and consists of a tasting of several Rioja vermouths paired with kilometer 0 pinchos and all commented by a sommelier. The price of this activity is 18 euros.

Already in the month of July, specifically, on Wednesday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m., the CCR will host the concert ‘The 4 Seasons of Vivaldi’ by the International Virtuosi Orchestra and Antonio García Egea, considered one of the Spanish violinists most important of his generation. This is a concert where you can enjoy the most beautiful scenes from Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter written by this virtuoso musician, who is one of the greatest exponents of the baroque genre.

Also scheduled for July is the opening of the exhibition by architect Domingo García Pozuelo entitled ‘Inhabited Places’. in the Sea of ​​Words room. Likewise, visits to the Vivanco exhibition ‘Spirit of wine: wine as a religious value’ will continue until its closing on July 21.

On the other hand, children will also occupy a central space in the Rioja Culture Center and, throughout the first fortnight of July, various educational activities will be carried out to learn about the current exhibitions and the building itself while They carry out educational workshops with innovative materials. Finally, we must remember that the Rioja Culture Center extended its hours a few days ago and, until next October 1, it can be visited from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
