Las Tunas.- The University of Las Tunas is immersed in a series of activities in greeting to July 26, an emblematic date in the history of Cuba. In this context, conferences, meetings, participation events have been organized, which seek to highlight the importance of the events of 1953, when the Centennial Generation attacked the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

Meetings have been scheduled by prominent academics who will address various aspects related to the meaning of this anniversary, and will encourage debate and reflection on its weight in national identity.

In addition, they have organized educational talks in which students, professors and members of the university community participate to discuss the validity of the legacy of the July 26 combatants, and promote the exchange of ideas and the strengthening of historical awareness among young people. .

“Our program is marked by the extension nature of participatory impact. For example, we carried out sanitation work in the community of San José and in the coming days the FEU artistic brigade will perform in some settlements in the municipality of Las Tunas.
“Likewise, the University will open tower 2 of the female scholarship, on the Pepito Tey campus, after a large investment and some time of work,” said Yoenia Virgen Barbán Sarduy, rector.

Additionally, cultural activities related to the feat of July 26 have been scheduled, to bring young people closer through art and culture to the patriotic values ​​that inspired the combatants of that time.
