They close a Migration office to “make resources more effective”

The National direction of Migrationthrough a resolution published this morning in Official bulletin, announced the closure of the office that operates in San Rafael. The argument put forward is based on the low number of procedures recorded by that department in the south of the province. The activities of the headquarters as well as the staff will be absorbed by the offices that operate in Greater Mendoza.

The National Migration Directorate (DNM) ordered the closure of the Immigration Office in San Rafael within the framework of a broader plan to “optimize resources and improve the administrative efficiency of the agency.” The measure was communicated through Provision 1627/2024, published today in the Official Gazette and also affects the offices of Paso de Los Libres and El Calafate.

Among the arguments that motivate the closure of the agency, the low demand for procedures recorded by the Migration office located in San Rafael is mentioned. According to the analysis, these offices only managed on average one confirmed shift per day.

The letter highlights that both the procedures and the office staff will be absorbed by the Guaymallén department.
