San José de Cúcuta June 20, 2024. (@AlcaldíaCúcuta) The Ministry of Health presented officially the collective interventions plan’PIC’ with the help of Imsalud, in order to coordinate and articulate comprehensive care activities for users identified with pathologies and public health events in the city.
This initiative is framed in Resolution 518 of 2015 of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which regulates collective interventions by the municipal Health Secretariats. In this context, the Cúcuta Health Secretariat has hired ImSalud to carry out these actions.
“The ESE Imsalud is the executing group of these activities through an administrative agreement with the Mayor’s Office of Cúcuta for the year 2024. During this period, various community events will be held in eight organized programs. We have a team of 22 professionals in charge of carrying out these activities, thus guaranteeing broad and effective coverage,” stated Salua Durán Reyes, coordinator of the Imsalud PIC.
The priority areas of the PIC are environmental health, food and nutrition security, leprosy, expanded program on immunization, healthy living, non-communicable diseases, mental health, sexual and reproductive health and tuberculosis.
Edward Castro Sánchez, professional supporting the supervision of the PIC of the Municipal Health Secretariat, highlighted the importance of this initiative and thanked the collaboration of the entities that administer benefit plans for the effective implementation of community actions.
“Screening tests will be carried out on vulnerable populations for the early detection of mental disorders, HIV, syphilis and tuberculosis. This detection will allow the activation of comprehensive care routes through the entities that administer the benefit plans corresponding to each identified person,” the PIC supervisor pointed out.
The implementation of the intervention plan is expected to have a significant positive impact in reducing preventable diseases, improving quality of life and increasing life expectancy in the community.
