After the accident that occurred this Thursday afternoon, representative Yulieth Sánchez (Democratic Center) spoke out. The congresswoman, to whom the armored truck that ran over a cyclist in the center of Bogotá was assigned, assured that she regretted the events and made herself available to the authorities to investigate what happened.

His advisor, Camilo Arenas, was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. According to him, the cyclist had crossed the road, so she had to maneuver to avoid her and, when backing up, she collided with a colonial house. However, witnesses at the scene assured that the vehicle he was driving was responsible.
The statement published by the representative indicated that Arenas “is available to undergo the corresponding examinations in Forensic Medicine, which will be delivered to the public.”
The woman who was on the bicycle was treated by paramedics at the scene and was later taken to a clinic. The first reports indicated that, although she was injured, she was out of danger.

“We pray for the speedy recovery of the affected person, who is already being treated and whose evolution we are monitoring,” the text reads.
Arenas was questioned for driving the vehicle, assigned to the representative by the National Protection Unit. Although the advisor indicated that he had an accreditation presented to the House of Representatives, he would not have the indicated permit to drive that truck.
