It has been contributed to the Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital and we already have recovery projects for 5 hospitals and health posts, as well as the allocation of 250 Basic Health Equipment,” he concluded.

Regarding the progress in health reform, he assured that the transformation of the sector has been worked hand in hand with the unions and the EPS with the purpose of offering better services, improving access and equitably bringing care closer. in health throughout the national territory.

“With this forum we seek to hear from the community again, show them the consensus that we have achieved and we hope to sit down again with the seventh commission of the Senate of the Republic,” said Minister Jaramillo.

The official mentioned that the proposal seeks to have primary health care as its fundamental basis, that is, a preventive and decisive model. “We have been proposing it in different pillars such as direct rotation, vertical integration and the transformation of the EPS. There is also a commitment from the government to pay the debts that exist from the EPS that went bankrupt,” he said.

And he added: “the community has repeatedly expressed to us that hospital management must have a meritocracy process.” Jaramillo stated that these socialization sessions will take place in the following weeks in different cities in the country.

For her part, the governor of Cesar, Elvia Milena Sanjuan indicated that “there is something that I agree with the National Government, and that is that it was good that the great resources stay in the big cities; “El Cesar, El Magdalena and La Guajira also deserve it, we hope that the health reform is a reform in favor of the country and especially that it can dignify the service and its provision.”

At the same time, he said: “I want to express to you with all the responsibility that the public administration deserves that we agree and stand with you, the National Government, in what the country favors in this matter.”

He highlighted the heroism of health workers during the pandemic, one of the most complex of humanity, pointing out that those episodes that led to the unfortunate loss of life surely led the National Government to rethink health. “We had a great helper in that difficult moment, Minister, and today, in addition to asking him for his urgent responsibility to support and strengthen the public network, I must also raise my voice for the private network,” he said.

“We would not have been able to address the public calamity of the pandemic if the private network had not been available for us from the departmental government; “This is the moment to recognize that as a team we can do great things, that the department of Cesar wants to overcome the crisis, but we also long for it to be done with justice and social equity,” the Governor reiterated.
