A woman around 30 years old was arrested in La Pampa this Wednesday when he was traveling with his 5-year-old daughter from San Rafael to Neuquénafter police personnel verified that the little girl was reported missing in her native province, Mendoza.

The arrest took place in the town of Santa Isabel, where both arrived on Tuesday night to stay at the municipal shelter.

There, the situation of the woman and the girl was investigated by the officers, until they detected a serious irregularity: The girl had a kidnapping warrant because she had left her home with her mother without her having custody.

Sources from the Victorica Prosecutor’s Office cited by the newspaper La Arena indicated that the investigation began when “the person in charge of Social Action of the municipality, upon realizing the situation of the travelers who were hitchhiking from Mendoza to Neuquén, notified the local police.”

Prosecutor María Nemesio intervened in the case, who confirmed that the woman did not present requests for her whereabouts at the national level, but that the girl was intensely searched in the city of San Rafael since that same Tuesday morning.with campaigns on social media and local press.

“Although the minor was traveling with her mother, it should be noted that the parent did not have custody. The Justice of Mendoza informs us that the girl was intensively searched. And it is from Mendoza that the arrest warrant for her mother for the crime of kidnapping comes from,” the prosecutor added in statements to the media.

After the exchange of data, around 4:40 p.m. this Wednesday, an operation was launched to arrest and transfer the girl’s mother, with judicial proceedings from the 38th police station of San Rafael, for investigation of whereabouts and child abduction.

The girl, meanwhile, was left in the custody of the La Pampa Children’s Directorate team. Juan Pablo Meaca, in charge of the Ombudsman’s Office for the Rights of Girls, Boys and Adolescents of La Pampa, coordinated delivery to the authorities and a professional Children’s team from the province of Mendoza.
