Havana, Jun 26 (RHC) The presidents of Cuba and Venezuela condemn the coup d’état taking place in Bolivia as an attack on democracy.

In his account on

“We repudiate the attempted coup d’état underway and extend all the solidarity of the Cuban Government and people to brother @LuchoXBolivia“, wrote Diaz-Canel.

We denounce signs of possible military action against the Constitution of the Plurinational State of #Bolivia that would have serious consequences. We reject attempts to subvert the popular will. Our support for the president @LuchoXBolivia” expressed the Cuban president in another post.

The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, in the same social network rejected these acts and reiterated that Latin America and the Caribbean is a zone of peace.

From Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro also rejected the actions of the military forces and expressed his solidarity with the people and Government of Bolivia.

He called on the Bolivian people to defend their democracy, their Constitution and their president Lucho Arce. He expressed all the solidarity of the people of Simón Bolívar.

In a message to the Bolivian people, Maduro said NO to fascism and the coup. He highlighted the importance of defending peace and stability, and questioned who endorses, promotes and supports this coup d’état.
