Rebel Moon is a science fiction saga that was created by the film director, Zack Snyder for Netflix. The first delivery, Rebel Moon – Part 1: The Fire Girl, was presented in 2023 and, from the first moment, critics had no compassion for it. In fact, she quickly became the worst rated movie of the filmmaker’s entire filmography.

Despite this, Netflix’s pulse has not trembled to present the second part from the saga: Rebel Moon – part 2: The warrior who leaves marks. However, their initial fate has not been different and critics have once again shown no mercy with the opinions expressed about them. However, in both cases, it seems that the audience does not think the same. At least, if we stop only to look at the positions of both films in the Netflix ranking, the streaming platform on which we can find it.

Top 10 in 92 countries

Regardless of the opinion of specialized critics, at the time of writing these lines, Rebel Moon 2 occupies the Top 10 in number of views in 92 countries. In up to 27 of them it ranks first. Furthermore, the premiere of the second part also seems to have catapulted the first installment of the saga, which has returned to rank in the Top 10 of the world ranking.

In Spain, for example, we find the first delivery located in the number 7 of the movies most views today. While the second part occupies the number 1 position. Following the same trend that we find in other territories. However, it seems that the rest of the indicators They are not so positive as demonstrated by Netflix’s own ranking.

According to the Sensacine media, the second installment accumulates 21.4 million views. This represents a small decrease compared to the first part. Which garnered a total of 23.5 million sessions during the first week it was available for viewing. Therefore, it seems that not all viewers who did see the first installment have shown the same interest in participate in the second.

No news of future deliveries

No type of information has yet been published with which to predict that, indeed, the third installment could already be in production. However, the same media previously cited includes some statements that the director made in the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.

According to him, if the distribution model had been based on cinema, the reach would have been much greater. In fact, “probably more people have seen Rebel Moon than Barbie in the cinema”, he came to affirm. In the meantime, it remains to be seen what the public response is as the saga remains available longer.
