The first reactions to ‘Furiosa’ coincide: a ‘Mad Max’ movie overflowing with crazy action

The fall of the world has its consequences. The new film in the ‘Mad Max’ saga opens to madness in ‘Furiosa’, a film starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. Some lucky people have already been able to enjoy the prequel and the opinion seems unanimous: a fast-paced action film that leaves the viewer breathless.

These have been the reactions of ‘Furiosa’

IndieWire’s David Ehrlich said: “I’m very happy to report that ‘Furiosa’ is really good. It runs at an extremely different pace than ‘Fury Road’ (so I suspect it’s going to frustrate some people), but it manages to make the movie richer, while also forming its own legend in the wasteland.”

“George Miller’s ‘Furiosa’ is powerful action cinema at its finest, a fierce epic with merciless rhythm “which expands the story of Furiosa and the wasteland while offering the craziest chases, the most bombastic characters and certainly impressive cinematography,” wrote Erik Davis. The critic also claims that both Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy bring “incredible things” to the production. “There is a War Rig sequence that blew my mind, an instant classic.”

Simon Thompson was also delighted: “Jesus, George Miller! ‘Furious’ immerses you. At times it seems to exceed the limits of the IMAX format, it is that big. At other times it has an intimacy that is deeply moving. Echoes of cinematographic elements from the 50s to the 80s. It is a rich and intelligent vision.” Joe, from the House Cinema podcast, has defined it as “the heavy metal of cinema”, a film that has the characteristic elements of the saga, but that manages to offer “something entirely unique”.

“I can already say: ‘Furiosa is a marvel!’” Peter Gray shared. “It has been done [teniendo en cuenta] the spirit of ‘Fury Road’, but it is its own beast that feeds on exaggerated action and characters. Anya Taylor-Joy makes her character her own, but Chris Hemsworth proves his worth as a character actor”. Esther Zuckerman is more concise and sparse in words: “Well, I saw ‘Furiosa’ tonight and it was great.” David Crow, for his part, is clear: “’Furiosa’ is a visual festival and a spectacular marvel, the antithesis of ‘Fury Road’.” According to this critic, the new film delves into dystopia, despair and glory.

‘Furiosa’ opens in theaters on May 24. George Miller himself has revealed that he has more ideas for continuity to the saga: “The scriptwriters know everything that happened to him that year and there is a whole story that I would like to carry out if I have the opportunity.”
