“During the summer of 1957, bankruptcy looms over the company that Enzo Ferrari and his wife Laura founded ten years earlier. Desperate, Enzo gambles on his professional future in the Mille Miglia, an emblematic race that crosses Italy,” is the official synopsis. of this film directed by Michael Mann.
This film was created based on the 1991 non-fiction book “Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine” by motorsports journalist Brock Yates.
Ferrari’s cast stars Adam Driver (as Enzo Ferrari), Penélope Cruz (as Ferrari’s wife Laura), Shailene Woodley (Ferrari’s lover), Gabriel Leone, Sarah Gadon, Jack O’Connell and Patrick Dempsey.
It is worth noting that director Michael Mann began exploring the film around 2000, after having discussed the project with Sydney Pollack. At one point, actor Christian Bale was even considered to play Ferrari, but the role ultimately went to Driver.
