PHOENIX — Randal Grichuk hit a home run as part of a night in which he had three hits, Corbin Carroll, Venezuelan Gabriel Moreno and Cuban Lourdes Gurriel Jr. also contributed three hits apiece and the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated Tuesday 9- 4 to the Los Angeles Angels.

Grichuk was one single shy of hitting the cycle, while Carroll was one home run shy. Moreno hit a pair of doubles and had two RBIs.

The last Diamondbacks player to complete the cycle was Aaron Hill on June 29, 2012.

Carroll opened the scoring in the second inning with an RBI triple to the gap between right and center field, which drove in Grichuk. Two batters later, Geraldo Perdomo added an RBI single that made the game 2-0.

Carroll, the reigning Rookie of the Year in the National League, has five hits in his last two games, as he tries to get out of the slump that has plagued him all season.

Perdomo played his first game in more than two months, after tearing a meniscus in his right knee.

The defeat was for Venezuelan left-hander José Suárez (1-1), in his first start of the campaign, after 16 relief appearances. He won Jordan Montgomery (4-4).

For the Angels, Venezuelan Luis Rengifo is 5-1.

For the Diamondbacks, Dominicans Ketel Marte was 0 for 2 with two runs scored, Perdomo was 2 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI. The Venezuelans Moreno 5-3 with one scored and two RBIs, Eugenio Suárez 4-0. Cuban Gurriel was 3 for 5 with two RBIs.
