If you were one of those people who were waiting for the launch of Life by You, yesterday we told you that the game was completely canceled. This installment was destined to be the great rival of The Sims and was the title that would offer a bit of competition to Electronic Arts, however, the life simulator will not finally reach the market. Unfortunately, it has now also become known that the studio responsible for its development, Paradox Tectonic, closes its doors.

Although an indefinite delay for the launch of the game was confirmed some time ago, the worst news came when this installment was completely canceled. There were many people who wanted to enjoy this installment and however, it will finally remain in the pipeline, it seems that for the moment, The Sims will continue to be the great king of the market as far as this style of play is concerned. Something that has not been liked too much either, since people want EA’s delivery to have competition.

Paradox Tectonic says goodbye after the closure of Life by You

This information can be seen on the official Paradox Interactive website, which is where it is confirmed that after canceling this long-awaited life simulator, the company is also forced to close the studio, in which 24 people worked. The information has been offered by Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox. If you want to know what his words were, we leave them right below these lines so that you don’t miss anything at all.

This is difficult and drastic news for our colleagues at Tectonic, who have been working hard on the early access release of Life by You. Unfortunately, with the cancellation of their only project, we have to make the difficult decision to close the studio. We are deeply grateful for their hard work in trying to bring Paradox to a new genre.

The Paradox Tectonic studio is just one of many that have closed throughout this year. At the time it was already said that 2024 would be the year of closure, especially taking into account the number of layoffs that the industry is suffering since this year started. Although players are enjoying great titles, it seems that the internal situation of many studios is not the most appropriate.
