Hazte Oír, an ultra-Catholic association, sues Begoña Gómez for influence peddling

The ultra-conservative and ultra-Catholic organization Hazte Oír has filed a criminal complaint against the wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, for “an undetermined number” of influence peddling crimes before the investigating court number 41 of Madrid, whose owner, Juan Carlos Peinado has already opened preliminary proceedings to act against Begoña Gómez, following a complaint from Manos Limpes, which led the Chief Executive to take five days to reflect on his future at the head of the Government.

The ultra-Catholic organization has reported its initiative in a statement on its veracity, has assured that his complaint is “founded” and affects “facts and information in a chronological and rigorous manner.”

Its spokesperson Miguel Tomás recalled that his association committed weeks ago to carrying out “a battery of judicial actions” against Begoña Gómez and explained that, in this sense, it has already filed three complaints: before the European Prosecutor’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office State and the European Anti-Fraud Office.

Compared to the seven pages of the Manos Cleans complaint, Hazte Oír’s complaint consists of 31 pages in which it endorses the entire story published in various media, mainly The confidentialof alleged irregular conduct by Begoña Gómez to obtain an economic benefit from companies due to her status as the wife of the President of the Government.

This platform requests in its complaint that it be admitted for processing and that the central operational unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard be required to provide a report on Begoña Gómez’s business links with companies that were later awarded public contracts.

It also requests that the legal representatives of several companies, including Globalia or the Instituto de Empresa, be summoned as witnesses. The complaint explains – with indications based on journalistic information – that at the beginning of 2020 Air Europa (of the Globalia Group) signed a confidential contract with the IE Africa Center, directed by Begoña Gómez, “through which the Wakalua company (created On January 22, 2019 between Globalia and the UNWTO), a subsidiary of Air Europa (which at the time of signing that agreement was experiencing serious economic problems), committed to paying the study center 40,000 euros per year.

The letter points out that “it is not entirely clear whether these payments occurred or not, since Wakalua is not transparent in economic matters.” He highlights that “at that time the Globalia Group was going through a difficult economic time, which is why such an operation is very suspicious”, which gathers evidence of serving to obtain “the influence” of the defendant in other operations.”

Who are the people from Hazte Orír?

The association that has joined the judicial offensive against the president’s wife is known for its anti-abortion and pro-life demonstrations and actions. Last year they mobilized a hundred people at the Dator clinic to pray at the door against operations to terminate pregnancy.

Last year, this platform displayed a bus through Barcelona with a huge banner that read “Sánchez dictator”, accompanied by a photograph of the President of the Government characterized as Hitler.

It was not the first time that this association charged against the socialist Government for its laws on gender violence and showed their disagreement with feminism. “It is not gender violence, it is domestic violence,” they have said in various banners and demonstrations, in response to the allegation that these laws discriminate against men.
