The Chile team is already installed in New Jersey, site of the second game that will be played in the Copa America 2024after completing an eventful journey from dallas and arrive at Newart airport around midnight.
Chile tied 0-0 against Peru, Ricardo Gareca’s team trained on Saturday morning on the field of the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, and in the afternoon they moved to Dallas to board their flight to New Jersey.
What, in principle, was going to be a two-hour trip was delayed due to a storm in the area of NYto which was added a later wait, for security reasons, because apparently the former president of the United States Donald Trump was arriving at the Newart airport at that moment, according to sources close to the Chilean delegation.
All of this delay meant that the La Roja players did not arrive at their hotel until midnight, despite which they found the support of several dozen Chilean fans who endured the wait until the arrival of their country’s national team bus.
The Andeans will have training this Sunday at the Rutgers University facilities, ahead of the match scheduled on the calendar against Argentina, which can decide their options for the next round of the Copa América 2024.
The Chile vs. match Argentina will be played at MetLife Stadium at 7:00 pm CT in Mexico and 9:00 pm ET in the United States on Tuesday, June 25.
