Begining of June, The Government announced the beginning of the transition towards a new energy subsidy schemeestablishing new wholesale values for gas and electricity.
In this context, the Ministry of Energy reported that the maximum limits of subsidized consumption for users with low and medium incomes (categories N2 and N3) have been reduced. As a result, in the coming months, residential household bills will experience significant increases.
“This begins the process to move from a generalized subsidy regime to a focused one, where the user can know the cost of the kilowatt of electrical energy and m3 of natural gas, which is identical for all, and the assistance of the National State is provided. according to the user’s payment capacity, up to a consumption limit through the recognition of a lower payment”they detailed.
Given this situation and considering the arrival of low winter temperatures, those who wish to avoid paying more and meet the requirements can register in the Registry of Access to Energy Subsidies (RASE) to keep state aid on their bills.
Who can apply for subsidies
To recover the subsidy on energy rates, users who have never requested it or have lost it must meet certain requirements before the Ministry of Energy, completing a form that demonstrates the following:
Level 2 – Lower income segment:
- Have net income less than $851,351, which represents a Total Basic Basket for a type 2 household according to INDEC.
- Own even a property.
- Do not have a vehicle less than 3 years old.
Level 3 – Middle Income Segment:
- Have net income between $851,351 and $2,979,728.50, which is equivalent to between 1 and 3.5 Total Basic Baskets for a type 2 household according to INDEC.
- Own up to two properties.
- Have up to a vehicle less than 3 years old.

The Registry of Access to Energy Subsidies (RASE) is intended for all Argentines with low and middle incomes who wish to maintain the gas and electricity subsidies they currently receive in their homes.
To request it, the following information is needed:
Personal information
- DNI of the applicant and of all the people who live in the address for which the subsidy is requested.
- Information about the employment situation.
- Total monthly household income.
- CUIT or CUIL number.
Services data
Meter, customer, account, service, contract and/or NIS (Supply Identification Number) numbers found on the applicant’s electricity and/or gas bills, to associate them with the corresponding home.

The procedure to request the gas and electricity subsidy is free and is done online, following these steps:
- Enter the website of the Ministry of Energy and complete the form to register in the Registry of Access to Energy Subsidies (RASE).
