Last Tuesday, June 11, it was learned that Juan Carlos Peña, president of the channel until that moment, had submitted his resignation letter and the board of directors accepted it, so the position remained vacant.
“The Board of Directors of Win Sports accepted today the resignation presented by Dr. Juan Carlos Peña, to the position of president of the companymotivated by the intention of starting a project in the field of marketing,” the company statement said.
After the resignation of the president, The Win Sports channel announced this Thursday, June 13, that journalist Andrea Guerrero will assume this positionbecoming the first female president of the sports channel.
The new president has more than 19 years of experience in the world of sports and he already knows the executive role, since he was in charge of the Sports management of RCN Television.
His appointment is a trend on social networks and several colleagues, both from RCN and other media, have expressed their congratulations for this new challenge as José Manuel Acevedo, César Augusto Londonoamong others.
Andrea Guerrero will take office as of today and arrives at a time of changesince recently the departure of one of its most important narrators, Javier Fernández Franco, was announced, and, on the other hand, the channel is working on the renewal of the Colombian soccer rights that expire in 2026.
