CAR’s team of experts reached this conclusion after carrying out extensive testing on and around the iconic German Nürburgring circuit, making this the first test of high-performance electric vehicles since 2022.
The comparison, which included seven models from various brands, from established premium manufacturers to the most prominent exclusive electric vehicle manufacturers, awarded the title to the hyundai IONIQ 5 N despite facing models with significantly higher prices, including a hypercar that exceeds 2 million dollars.
Among a number of key technical advances is a powertrain that delivers superior power and improved battery cooling and braking performance. The IONIQ 5 N’s electric motors can spin up to 21,000 RPM, providing up to 609 HP under normal conditions or 650 HP when the vehicle’s N Grin Boost (NGB) feature is activated, which maximizes acceleration for up to 10 seconds.
With an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top track speed of 260 km/h, this model redefines performance expectations in the high-performance electric vehicle segment.
Despite having only been on the market for a few months, the hyundai IONIQ 5 N has already garnered a number of notable accolades. Recently, it was awarded World Performance Car at the World Car Awards.
Furthermore, the hyundai IONIQ 5 N has made its mark at the Nürburgring, where it set the fastest lap record for an electric SUV, according to Germany’s Sport Auto.
